BACK TO SCHOOL.....
We will welcome all back to school on Monday August 30th. A special welcome to all who will be with us for the first time, be they into Junior Infants or into other classes up the school. We would advise Junior Infant parents to ease the morning on all by bringing their chilld to the classroom, saying hello to the teacher and then moving out. Junior Infant pupils go home at 12.30pm and should be picked up at the classroom door. Due to building restrictions and the loss of a prefab over the summer the two fifth classes will be be taught in the building at the entrance to Kinsellla Park. This is a temporary measure until the the first phase of the new school becomes available in November. Two classrooms have been prepared there and have been vetted by an architect for safety standards etc. We ask that fifth class pupils be dropped at the main school for the first few mornings and each evening to be picked up at the main school or as operated up to last June. There will be four adults with the two classes so issues around safety and such are all well configured into the group concerned. New and larger play spaces have been constructed over the summer and this will lessen the crowding and concerns with play time which arose last term. We hope each and every pupil will have a very happy and productive year, ayear which will see the completion of the long awaited new school.

AUGUST UPDATE - The builders have been busy over the summer. No holidays were taken so the project is now well up to date with the front phase due for completion in November. The roof is now in place and the windows are due this week. Much of the first fix of mechanical and electrical work is completed including items such as radiators, electrical fixings and such. External plasterwork will soon commence and at the same time numerous sub-contractors will be able to proceed with items such as ceilings, first fix joinery, flooring and painting. On completion of the front section work will commence on the removal of many of the prefabs to make way for a cluster of classrooms at the end of the school. This will be a very disruptive phase as the school will operate at the front and in the field while the buiders operate in the middle of the site.
